Universal Referee/Umpire Timer Instructions

Set-Up Instructions

  1. Lift the lid using a flat-head screwdriver for easy removal.
  2. Install 2 AAA batteries ensuring the positives match.
  3. Use the reference settings on the back to set the 4 internal switches for your specific sport.

Standard Operation

  • The timer will vibrate briefly after flipping the switch on.
  • Down position => shorter timer.
  • Up position => longer timer.
  • Middle position => powered off.

Notes

  • A short chirp when powering on indicates a low battery. Internal LEDS will also alternate.
  • It is best to remove the batteries for the off-season.
  • For settings that include 5 second count down there are 6 vibrations. Starting with the first vibration, count yourself backward as: 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0. The timer expires when you reach 0.
  • The timer is NOT waterproof.
  • Make sure to keep buzzer away from ears to prevent hearing damage.

Lacrosse 20/120 (1-ON)

20-second timer: Continuous and audible tone with vibration when the timer reaches 0:00.

120-second timer: Audible tone and vibration at 20 seconds remaining. Continuous audible tone and vibration when the timer reaches 0:00.

Optional: For no sound use switch positions 1 and 4 ON. For no vibration use switch positions 1 and 3 ON.

Football 25/40 (2-ON)

25-second timer: Warning vibration at 10 seconds remaining. Then 5 quick vibrations to count down the last 5 seconds. Continuous vibration at 0:00.

40-second timer: Warning vibration at 25 seconds and 10 seconds remaining. Then 5 quick vibrations to count down the last 5 seconds. Continuous vibration at 0:00.

Optional: Audible tone (1,2 ON). Or 25/60 (2,3-ON). The 60-timer will give a warning vibration at 15 seconds remaining.

Baseball 20/120 (3-ON)

20-second timer: Warning vibration at 10 seconds remaining. Steady vibration for 5 seconds at 0:00.

120-second timer: Warning vibration at 30 seconds remaining and with 15 seconds remaining. Continuous vibration at 0:00.

Optional: 15/20 (3,4 ON) or 15/18 (2,3,4 ON) or 17/30 (1,2,3,4 ON). Warning vibration at 8 seconds remaining. Steady vibration for 5 seconds at 0:00.

Softball 20/90 (4-ON)

20-second timer: Warning vibration at 10 seconds remaining and 5 seconds remaining. Continuous vibration at 0:00.

90-second timer: Warning vibration at 30 seconds remaining and 15 seconds remaining. Continuous vibration at 0:00.
